However, not everyone may have that much money to spend on that subscription. No need to worry though, as there are more than a few ways that you can get Office 365 for free. Here’s how.

Use Office 365 for free on the web

1. Students and educators at eligible institutions can sign up for Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft Teams, plus additional classroom tools. Use your valid school email address to get started today. Office 365 works like you: everywhere.

To check your eligibility, you can check out this Microsoft webpage and input your @.edu email address. Next, choose if you’re a student or teacher. If you see a page that reads “You have an account with us,” then that means you’re eligible for free Office 365. Click the sign in link, and sign in with the email address and password (Office 365 information) provided to you by your school. Once logged in with your .edu, you can then head to this page and click the “Install Office” button on the top right cover of the screen.
